CLASS INFO

In this series of five classes, we will journey together into Eihei Dogen’s World, which of course is our world. And what better way to experience it, then through the lens of The Shobogenzo, Dogen’s magnum opus. The Shobogenzo will serve as our overall guide to the history, philosophy, and practice of Zen. It’s dense, poetic, fantastical, and just what he intended for the instruction in the Buddha Dharma of his monks. Luckily, we have an excellent translation for our class in Kozen’s ninety five-fascicle edition, published in the seventeenth century, and edited by Kazuaki Tanahashi and Associate Editor Peter Levitt.

$20 per class for Members; $30 per class for Non-Members
