EVENT DESCRIPTION

Living in Los Angeles, the word “street” runs deep, both in the city and in us. Class, race, gender, survival, trash, violence, cars, movement are just some of the meanings embedded into this word and into our lives.

Join us for a day to explore how we can begin to partner with our neighbors and other religious organizations to get to know what is happening on our streets – how they affect us and how we affect the streets. We will eat together, set our intention, cut vegetables for the soup kitchen program at St. James Episcople Church in our neighborhood, hold a closing circle council, and deliver the food. Participants will have the opportunity to gently stretch their ‘window of tolerance’ around hesitations, fears, feelings, and resistance to develop more awareness about life on the streets
